Bury CE High School

BURY CE HIGH SCHOOL
A Church of England Academy with the vision to empower all students to let their light shine.

Local Governing Body

Our Local Governing Body (LGB) is a committee of The Bishop Fraser Trust Board, and is critical to the success of our school. The LGB's responsibilities are delegated under its Terms of Reference and through the Trust Board's Scheme of Delegation. Our Governors support the Trustees by providing them with assurance that our school is:

  • Operating within the ethos and values of the Trust and creating a positive climate for all our stakeholders
  • Meeting agreed targets
  • Working within agreed policies
  • Engaging with stakeholders

Our Local Governing Body brings together voices from across the school community, including parents, staff and local representatives. Our Governors provide a vital link by helping Trustees to understand our school's educational performance, safeguarding arrangements, priorities, community and distinct context and character. Governors provide support and challenge to our school leaders to help ensure that our pupils receive the best possible educational experience and outcomes.

The Chair of the LGB works closely with the Headteacher and the Trust, and leads the Local Governing Body. Our Chair is Canon Liz Nicholls and she can be contacted on office@bury.tbft.uk

We are always very keen to hear from anyone who might be interested in becoming a Governor. If you would like to find out more, please contact enquiries@tbft.uk
